Hanan Ingel creates unique pieces of wearable art by combining ancient Greek, Roman, Jewish and Byzantine coins into hand-crafted jewelry. Ingel owns and operates Erez Ancient Coin Jewelry in Berkeley, California where their mission is to help inspire and share the beauty and history of ancient coins with other art and history enthusiasts. Each coin is different and has survived hundreds to thousands of years from the time it was minted. Individuals who have purchased a piece from their collection tend to educate themselves more about the piece and time period from which it came. Each coin is authentic and comes with a letter of authenticity.
This hammered sterling silver ring holds a small Greek coin of the nymph of Histiaia. The coin was minted 340-330 BC and has the image of the head of Histiaia. The bezel around the coin is 14KT gold and creates a visual contrast between the ancient silver coin and the sterling silver band. The ring is also adorned with a 14KT gold fleur de lis design.
